the 3 AP Exams are Scores with 4, 4, and 3. Also, One math level high (i.e., AP Calculus AB in 11th grade, not 12th). Many extracurriculars, job experience, club.

For extracurriculars, how do colleges check them out?

  1. While there's no way to know for sure whether or not you'll get into a college (out of like, 800 people who applied to Harvard with perfect SAT scores, only 200 were accepted), I can say that you're getting there!

ACT is good, GPA is excellent, and UCs don't look too much into APs as much as other private schools.  But it's good to show them that you like to challenge yourself with harder classes.

Um, for the one math level higher thing, that just depends on the school.  Are you the ONLY person in the school who's taken AP Calc AB in 11th grade?  If so, that's pretty amazing.  But math level alone doesn't determine everything.  I have friends who took AP Calc AB in 9th grade, BC in 10th, and D in 11th and still got rejected from UCSD, let alone LA and Berkeley.

But yay for extracurriculars and job experience and clubs!  Colleges can't really "check" your extracurriculars, but that doesn't mean you can just lie on your application and load up on extracurriculars.  They're looking to see that you really are involved in these various things (mainly with your essays).  Remember, dedication to a few extracurriculars is MUCH better than occasional membership in 20 clubs.

  2. WOW! your a smart kid! I think you do have a great chance of getting in...

They check out the extracurriculars when you apply to that school i believe on the application or you submit a resume along with application!

    Good Luck!! :D :D
