    Amelia- 5

Emily- Actually I kinda like it spelt Emalee! 7

    Norah 4

    Sarah 5

Elisabeth 5 (like it best for a middle name!)

Rosamyn- 0- not a big fan of this name

    Isabelle 8

    Chrissy 8

Anabel 2, not my favorite name

Ava 10, One of my favs!!!

Ada 9, what a pretty name!

    Viviane 6, pretty name

    Myriam 2, it's ok!

  4. Lily Lillie - Lily, 3 Lily is cute but I am sick of it (Lillie gets a 1)

Amelia Emilia - these are two different names. I prefer Amelia which gets an 8, Emilia gets a 7

Emily Emilie Emmaleigh - Emily is overused. It gets a 4. They other spellings are atrocious and don't even make 1s.

Nora Norah - Norah is sweet and classy. The H makes it look more complete. It gets a 8. Nora gets a 6.

Sarah Sara - Sarah is gorgeous and classy! I love it. Again I prefer the H ending as is seems more complete. Sara gets a 3.

Lila Lilah - I prefer Lila which is gorgeous but very up and coming. Lilah is sweet too though. Lila gets a 6 and Lilah gets a 5.

Elizabeth Elisabeth - I love Elizabeth. It is gorgeous and classic. I give it a 9. Elisabeth is nice too but I prefer the Z. It gets a 5.

Rosamund Rosamond Rosamyn Rozamyn Rosamine - Rosamund really isn't my style. I give it a 3. The other names look horrible. The last three wouldn't be said as Rosamund. They don't make the scale.

Isabelle Isabel Isobel  - Isabel is sweet. I definitely prefer it to Isabella which is extremely overused. Isobel and Isabelle are nice too. I give them a 7, 6, and 5.

Chrissy Chrissie - I don't like either but I guess I prefer Chrissy. I give it a one. Chrissie doesn't rank

Anabelle Anabel - I love Annabel but when I see this I just see  "Anal". I give these 0s.

Eva Ava (ay-vah) - I say Eva as ee-vah. I give Ava a 5 because it is overused and trendy. Eva gets a 1 because of the pronunciation. Ee-vah would get a 6.

Eda Ada (ay-dah) - again not the same name. Ada gets a 7. Eda gets a 0

Viviane Vivienne - I love Vivienne. It gets a 8. Viviane looks off. Vivian is nice though. I give Viviane a 0. Vivian gets a 7.

    Miriam Myriam Miryam - Miriam gets a 8 its lovely. I don't like a Y. they get 0s.

  25. Lily- 5/10. Sweet name, but tremendously popular and a little cliched these days, what with parents trying to be clever by naming their daughters Lily-Rose.

Amelia- 8/10. Elegant and classic. Versatile and ages gracefully, plus plenty of nicknames!

Emily- 7/10. Actually, I love Emily, but because of it's uber-popularity, would never use it. It's destinied to become dated like Jennifer and Jessica, which is a real shame, as it's beautiful and the name of one of my favorite classic authors.

Norah- 6/10. I like Norah, especially as I associate it with the singer, whom I love, but it's not really my taste. It's respectable, pretty, and ages nicely, but I'm just not overly fond of it.

Sara- 8/10. I love Sara/h- it's a true classic, and a lovely name in general. I think especially the Sara spelling is so graceful and elegant, and a pretty, refreshing change from Sarah :)

Lila- 9/10. Another favorite. Short, sweet and simple, but very graceful and pretty. Ages well, and fairly uncommon.

Elizabeth- 10/10. I absolutely adore Elizabeth- my daughter will have this name either as first or middle. Regal, classy, and timeless. It's such a beautiful name- suited to anyone, but graceful and very elegant. It ages gorgeously, and has infinite nicknames :)

Rosamunde/Rosamine- 4/10. Not too fond of either of these. Rosamunde is valid, but sounds a bit bulky and unwieldy to me. Rosamine sounds made up, honestly. I do, however, like similar Rosalind and Rosalie.

Isobel- 8/10. I love this spelling. It's Scottish, and very uncommon, but pretty and tasteful without being frilly. It also ages nicely and works very well in general.

Chrissy- 1/10. As a given name, I don't think Chrissy works well at all. It's abrupt, frilly, nickname-y, and frankly, sounds a little juvenile on an adult. I would definitely avoid this as a first name- as a nickname, ok.

Annabel- 9/10. I love Annabel- it's one of my favorites. This spelling is not frilly, but tasteful and pretty. Very simple, but lovely :)

Eva- 8/10. I prefer this spelling to Ava, definitely, but with the prounounciation, Ava would be more phonetic. However Eva still works, and I love it. Very pretty- though short, it's graceful and not very common.

Ada- 3/10. This is a perfectly respectable and pretty name, just not to my taste. I think the -d sound in the middle is pretty abrupt, and I think it's just got no flow. But that's probalby just me ;)

Vivienne- 10/10. I love this spelling- French girls' names are really something else :) This is one of my favorites- so elegant and classy, and very flowing and graceful. However, I'd proceed with caution on this one, as it's bound to skyrocket in popularity since Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt named their daughter this.

Miriam- 6/10. Pretty and flows well- it also ages nicely. Elegant and fairly uncommon, which is always nice.

    Good luck!

  26. I grew up in the day when the hardest names to know how to spell were whether Cathy or Kathy.  then they became Cathie or Kathie.  Then Kathee, etc.

In recent years I've noticed a big effort for people to try immense spellings that were completely different than ever before, but usually they became more abominable than cute.  (ie: Emmaleigh)  Don't weight the kid down with a ten ton name that could be much easier spelled, just to feel you're making the kid 'different'.  It will be much worse on the kid in the long term.

That doesn't mean to not try different spellings.  But don't lose your perspective.  As a parent, you should be setting an example for your child, not trying to name it for a carnival sideshow.
