How quickly can I learn the English language?

I'm from Moldova, Europe.I want to learn English for living in USA,

You then very easy learn it in 3 months and less. The technical and details ok maybe not perfect now. But is to practice the main thing. In America here they do not speak there native speaker not so good anyway. You can do fine.

You can become fluent in less than 5-7yrs. You can also study for 10-12 yrs and never become fluent. It all depends on the person and your dedication/exposure. You will learn a lot faster if you move to an English speaking country and have to use the language all the time.

Technically, to be able to read, write, speak, and listen fluently in English it usually takes 5-7 years.  It should take you about 2 yrs. to be able to speak and listen well.  The reading and writing are harder.  If you're learning English as a second language (meaning also that you're surrounded with native speakers and not just learning out of a text book) it shouldn't be a tad easier.  

Your writing sounds better than that of your second responder who made little sense to me.

Keep practicing.  Listen to as many native speakers as you can by watching TV new programs, comedies, movies and the like.  American English may not be the king's English, but it is English and just as OK.  Remember, we got rid of the monarchy over here...
