  1. these people are technically wrong. Being an alcoholic means being addicted to alcohol, just like an addiction to any other drug, being addicted to alcohol means having a chemical dependency on the drug. trust me you are'nt there... but not changing your habits could lead you in that direction. unless you are physically unable to function without drinking, have physical withdrawal symptoms when not drinking AND PHYSICALLY cannot stop drinking (not just because you want to or want to party) you are not an alcoholic. You are probably just hanging out with people who like to drink and have fun which is perfecty fine as long as you dont take it too far and become dependent on it.

  2. As soon as you need to drink to live, or live to drink.  Or has drinking gotten you in trouble?  The fact that you are questioning it is a good sign that you are an alcoholic.  I would not take Christines advice as she is trying to hard to come up with reasons that you are not an alcoholic, when she has no idea who you are.

If you need to drink, or don't like life with out drinking, need it to feel good, all good indicators.  But know this, no one can tell you whether or not you are a drunk, just by your asking a question on line.

  3. supposovely many people's genes are wired for them to be alcoholics.  so technically once they are born.  Drinking alot does not make you an alcoholic contrary to popular belief.  not being able to go without drinking or not having the ability to stop once started is what makes someone an alcoholic

  4. my understanding of a person who is an alcoholic is that alcohol changes the personality of that person...........people can drink lots but their personality doesnt change.........thats what i was told anyway..

  5. it can do

  6. when u feel that you need it to have a good time or even to get through out the day, you're there. it depends a little on genetics though. do u have a history of alcoholism in ur family?

  7. Drink a lot.

  8. Varies all over the place.  For some, one drink will do it.  Probably the key question is the person dependent on the booze?
