Question:

How quickly could Iran deploy Russian S-300 systems?

The great bear is threatening the west by suggesting Russia will sell ballistic anti-aircraft systems such as the efficient and deadly S-300 units. How long would it take for these units to be operational on Iranian soil? If one is ordered today, how long before it can be set up and used? Might this development hasten an attack on Iran?

  1. The point that the Iranians are getting more advanced anti-aircraft missiles is moot- the only cause for war with Iran would be extreme political arrogance, and even then, stealth aircraft, filling the role of Wild Weasels, would destroy all radar and anti-aircraft batteries prior to an open air war.

  2. Nobody no longer will give a modern weapon in the hands of black eastern monkeys. They only themself will put to death by this weapon. If America will attack Iran - there will militate with our weapon our well trained soldiers, uniformed as in the Iranian army.  Similarly as it was in Korea and in Vietnam. We will no longer allow for the Egyptian, Syrian and Iraqi rams to disgrace our magnificent weapon before the whole world.

  3. the Russians won't even be done equipping themselves until late 2013  even if Iran ordered them today they would take months to arrive and the US and NATO would probably deploy special forces to take them out......Also the number that could be delivered within a year with the Russians being still able to equip themselves would only be about 10 and the amount of US and allied airpower that would be on Iran in an attack it wouldn't even come close to being able to suppress the Us air power....

  4. It does matter,

Russian tech doesn't work very well.

We saw that in 1991 during desert storm

And again during the Iraq war in 2003.
