A couple of months ago I got an x-ray of my wisdom teeth, and one of them was a streak of white (I don't know if that's a fault in the x-ray or the beginning of a tooth?) Anyway, about a month ago the back area of one corner of my mouth started hurting. i cant explain what it feels like except that it's sore, but not throbbing, and sometimes when i chew on it it feels like chewing on a tooth with a foreign object on top of it. is this my wisdom tooth or is it the second molar? i know there's no cavity there. Could it be causing pain so quickly after it looks like it wasn't even there yet?

  1. i know that from the time my first wisdom tooth to the time it was done growing was very short. seemed like only a couple of months.

  2. You might be experiencing what is called an "operculum".  It's when some of your soft tissue, your gums, actually grows over the top of a wisdom tooth or second molar, trapping debris and irritants.

It is also possible that you could have a variety of other issues.  If it's been a month, make an appointment with your dentist.  Unfortunately, no internet diagnosis can be very accurate.  Good luck!
