  1. put it to you this way my brother in law graduated BMT in June of 05, went to Fort Benning until October of 05, got stationed at For. Bragg in November of 05 and was gone in Febuary of 06.

  2. He won't deploy until after he gets to his first duty station after AIT.

So he could deploy a month afterwords, a year afterwords or not at all.

He will deploy with his unit, not as an individual.

So it all depends on if his unit is deployed, about to be deployed or just back from a deployment.

Or if he is in a unit, that will not deploy at all.

  3. Your husband should not join the military if he is already worried about deploying. Deployments and separations are part of military life. There is no set time as to when he will deploy, but it is always possible. My little brother joined the Army National Guard about a year ago and is deployed to Afghanistan. However, my husband is active duty Air Force and will just be deployed this winter for the first time in his 7 years of service. Even if he is not deployed, there will be many separations from his family b/c of training or other obligations. My husband spends 80 hours or more a week on base.  Please think this through before you commit to it. I love being a military wife, but you need to understand the sacrifice involved before you decide to live this lifestyle. I would talk to couples who are in the military or have served in the military. They will be able to give you more of a realistic few of military life than a recruiter, who may stretch the truth or not give you the whole truth.

  4. Depends on his ait and mos, If he is a combat oreinted mos probably fairly quickly, After i graduated ait i was in iraq 7 months later, then just over a year after i came home i got sent to afghanistan... but it all depends...

  5. If he has orders to go to his school after boot camp then he is fine until he gets to his ultmate duty sation. When you get to your first duty station it will depend on the rotation schedule of that particular unit.
