How quik would a baby jack dempsey grow in my 55-60 gallon tank on its own?

I have a fully cycled 55-60 gallon tank (229 litres) it is empty and i cnt decide what fish i would like...any ideas?....

Assuming you get it at 2-3" in length, it could take anywhere from a year to 18 months to reach maturity, and then probably another 6 months to hit it's adult size, around the 8-10" mark.
