How "deep" do progesterone suppositories have to go?

I have just started using progesterone vaginal suppositories (Endometrin). I inserted one this morning and everything seemed ok for awhile (except a little uncomfortable) but after showering and using the toilet, what was left of the tablet fell out! Is this going to be effective at all if they are not inserted "super deep"? (I've always had trouble inserting tampons too). I just don't want to do it incorrectly and waste it. Any advice?

I was told to take mine at night before going to bed, to prevent it from coming out.  There is still some that leaks out, but not as much as if you're up and about.  I just push it up as far as my finger will allow.

I've been doing the suppositories now for about 8 months 1x/day at night.  Did your Dr. explain why it's necessary to take them 2x a day?

I told my doctor that I won't do these anymore- they are way too messy. No matter how deep in I put them, some of it still came out. One day it was so bad that I had to leave work early, because I had a big wet spot on the back of my pants. I wore a pad for the remainder of the treatment cycle- and next time it's pills for me.

Call your doctor and see if they can switch you to the pills. If it's completely falling out of you, it's not going to be effective.

I am only doing them at night so haven't had this issue.  From the reading I did it seemed like ladies taking it 2x per day were having some of these issues as well.  Most of their docs asked them to lie down for 1/2 hour after they insert it and then if some comes out it's ok.  

Don't know if this will help but I'm using an applicator that you typically get with yeast infection medications to get the capsule as far as I can.  Then I sanitize it after each use in boiling water.  Good luck!!!

I just started mine today as well...just took my 1st one about 20 min ago...I WAS NEEDING TO KNOW THE SAME THING B/C mine melted however some of it came back out....the dr said take 2 a day....so im interested in this answer as well!! sorry I couldnt answer but im in the same boat with you!!!
