How racist is Chattanooga TN?

Me and my friends are planning to go to a bunch of anime conventions and the one in Chattanooga is on our list of travel. I need to know in order to let our parents know so they won't have to worry too much about us. I'm already aware that no matter where we go danger is all around us (that goes for racism), but I hear the south is pretty bad when it comes to race and I want to know for our safety since I'll have people of all races and sizes with me.
