How rancid smelling do you think a caveman's breath was?

i never thought of it until now but their breath must have been kickin!

  1. i doubt it was as bad as we would imagine...

    most "really" bad breath comes our stomachs.  Today, we eath things that cause fowl chemical reactions in our stomach leading to flatulance and bad breath (we eat a great amount of meat on a daily basis, for example.  A nutriant that early man would not have had in large quantities.)

    Early man would have only eaten specific things in his/her sourroundings.  Also they would have eaten the same things their ancesters ate...so their bodies would be used to digesting them...

    Also, many of the roots and hard vegetables they ate would have acted as tooth-brushes.

  3. No doubt it was bad, but it may not have been as bad as one would think.

    Consider - they didn't smoke.  They didn't have the foods we have that causes terrible odor.

  4. It depends if they flossed or used a tooth pick!
