  1. Greek plays were performed in places called ampitheaters which were on the sides of mountains. They were set up so sound waves were carried into the audience, making the voices and sound effects sound realistic.

Masks would be worn by every actor, and that mask would have an expression on it that was meant to represent that character. For example, in the play 'Antigone,' the main character is a very determined young lady, so her mask might have a stubborn look on it.

Also, usually women did not appear in plays. The parts of women would be played by young boys who had not yet begun puberty, so their voices would be more suiting for the part.

Overall, Greek plays were not very realistic, but the ways they were able to come up with to perform the plays becuase they did not have today's technology made the plays amazing for back then.
