I have a receiver, I just need the card and installation, but before I do that, I want to know whether or not it is worth my money.

  1. The service was good, and the pricing was ok, but I wasn't a big fan when it was stormy out because all I would get is pixels until it passed over....

  2. yes bad weather will affect the transmission, therefore if you live in a stormy, or rainy area your service may be choppy. However if you live in a fine area without high rains frequently then it is a very very excellent service. and if there is a problem they usually respond very quickly. when i had a problem (my dog got loose and jumped on the dish, it did not break but it was moved significantly from its targeted position they sent a guy out that day to fix it at no charge to me.

a good way that i solved the problem of storms, or bad weather was i went out and bought the complete set of a few series that i loved to watch such as "lost", and "Friends." so I would watch those if there was no service.

So i like direct TV, and though it is a bit pricey there are promotions in effect, and they have alot of plans that come with different prices, and different channels here is a web site to check out, ACN is offering some great deals right now: like i just checked it out they are offering a $99 instant rebate if you purchase through them.

try it out i love it.

  3. I've had Direct TV for about 2 years. Our contract just expired & we are going to get Dish. We have several friends that have Dish & it just seems more user friendly. We have a dvr on our Direct tv & it tapes random shows, sometimes it just doesn't tape what we program...Everything has pro's & con's so I guess it just comes down to personal expectations.
