How reliable is a 1994 Geo Metro w/ 75000 miles?

Looking for a Geo Metro around $1,500, 1994-1996, 75-110k miles, wondering what type of nichol & diming I will get for maintenance.

  1. It all depends on how it was maintained and driven. It may be a great deal or someone elses headache. The only way to tell is to have it checked by your mechanic before you buy.

    You'll get nickel and dimed as much as you would with any other 14 year old car, but, the way I see it, for a $1500.00 initial investment, even if you have to sink $800-$1000 a year into repairs, you're still far ahead of the game financially then if you have to pay a $450.00 dollar a month new car note. ($450.00 is the average payment you can expect on a new $22,000.00 car.)
