How reliable is a 2001 VW Beetle GLS Turbo Sport?

Question

This is a 5 speed turbo. How good is gas and everything else on it. I am currently learing how to drive a stick so thats why I want one. I dont have it down pat yet though.

i just bought my 2001 vw jetta turbo and it runs better than it did from the dealer. dont let anyone that there hard to work on. thats c**p. its just like any car. dont loose the key that flips open. if you loose your key it costs 200 with programming to program the key. mostly watch your oil. the oil in the engine also runs to the turbo. so start running synthetic oil in your car. the jettas are reliable. easy to take off parts and fix.  if you want good gas mileage, like i said use syntheic. i get 350 to 400 miles to the tank. with a turbo with performance parts :)
