  1. He probably doesn't make enough money for them.  He's probably in debt up to his eyeballs.

Or maybe the "landscaping business" is a money laundering business and he's really a successful drug trafficker.

There are businesses that can modify the skylines to make them legal here, a lot of movie stars used them when the Fast and the Furious movies were all the rage.

    Gas would be expensive.

  2. He probably loves cars (isn't it obvious if you go through the hassle of importing quite possibly the most illegal car that you love cars?). As far as money goes landscaping is pretty big bucks around here. I know a guy that makes a living growing and selling palm trees and owns a Viper. The cars mentioned would cost less than $500,000. Considering the island my dad lives on has no houses under $500,000 he's not really that rich compared to some people, waterfront houses here can cost multi-millions and tons of people have them.

  3. They would be what is known as a tax dodge.

Each one of the cars would be a business expense and most of the fuel, etc would be a tax deduction.

The cars would most likely be financed, so that he has to pay them off, and can also claim that back on tax. Its not worth owning a car outright if you are in business. Thats why he would go through so many cars.

Not sure where in the world you are, or why the car would be illegal.

He is obviosuly passionate about cars, so just enjoy watchnig the fine machinery go by.

  4. To answer your questions: yes, he's obviously very passionate about cars. (I wish I had a 1967 Charger R/T!) He probably spends a lot of money on fuel--the only way to know for sure would be to ask him. The Skyline was very likely imported from Japan...I'm not sure where you live, but more than a few have been imported into the States or snuck in thanks to Canada's more lax gray-market laws. And, if he's got a lot of clients and a good reputation--especially if his clients have a lot of money--his business could easily generate enough money to fund that car collection.
