How safe are motorcycles?

Question

if i ride a 250cc sportbike and avoid trying stunts, always wear a helmet and jacket, go the speed limit, and avoid the highway how safe am i?

ur safe just always think that cars cant see you because your so much smaller and always be alert

you are never safe enough... Even at home something can happen, so you have done what is required and now you can hope for the best...

There is always a chance that you wont be safe regardless of whether you are on a bike or in a car.  Bikes can sometimes be more dangerous due to car drivers not seeing them, but as long as you are sensible you cannot live your life by what may happen.

I was in a very bad car accident 5 years ago when another driver lost control at high speed.  I was just driving along minding my own business and the next thing another car is spinning out and coming backwards towards me.  I still drive although in a different car as mine and his were both left looking something like they would after having been in a sandwich press.  If something bad is going to happen you cannot avoid it regardless of how much precaution you take.

So as long as you take all care, you have to experience life and if you want to ride a motorbike then that is what you should do.
