How safe is Maracaibo compared to Caracas?

Is Maracaibo a big tourist destination? How safe is Maracaibo for tourist?

I woudn't call Maracaibo a BIG tourist destination but it is the second biggest city in Venezuela. As for security, crimes are less than Caracas but I don't think it's any safer than Caracas so be as cautious as if you were in Caracas.

hi , im from Valencia , Maracaibo isnt a big torist city but it is safer than Caracas because Caracas is bigger and more crazy , but Maracaibo isnt totally safe , it has its horrible parts and its beutiful parts , just like any other city in Venezuela , but if your a torist try not to make it too obvious and use common sense because tourists are targets fro crime , so be careful but dont let that scare you from Maracaibo as it is a cultural center and one of the most beutiful cities in Venezuela
