  1. You should check with your state see what the laws are about inspection of protable rides.  In my state, the rides have to be inspected daily on portable rides.  Some states require it weekly and others require it every so many operating hours of the ride.  In all, portable ride inspection is governed by the Consumer Safety Protection Coalition.  In Michigan you can contact:

    Mark Doman, P.E.

Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Growth

    Commercial Enforcement Division

    P.O. Box 30018

    Lansing, MI 48909

    TELEPHONE: (517) 241-9273

    FAX: (517) 335-7750

Both mobile and fixed site ride operators apply for annual permits.

Must pass inspection before issuance of permit

INSPECTION: Annual inspection. Periodic inspections based upon past history.

Some cities in Michigan require a state inspection before rides can

    operate

    Hope this helps :)

  2. It depends on how the builders put the coaster together usually they are safe but if the builders are bad then i would not ride how to tell...... Just watch if the coaster is shaking about when going down the track then it's not. but if it's not shaking or maybe a little then its probably safe hope this helps:)
