How safe is ebay?

Question

I am interesting in buying a cell phone from ebay since if I buy it from the company its expensive....has anyone used ebay or know someone that has?

should I should I not trust that website?

See, using ebay is not any problem but i have an bitter experience, i have purchased an cellphone and i paid the amount but i didnt received my cell phone but i got some of my money back.........

But i will never use it

Make sure you look at the seller's feedback because that is a strong indication of what type of seller they are. Make sure you read the feedback comments from other's who have purchased from the same seller and see if they were satisfied.

very safe, as long as you get and pay for it through paypal. Look for a phone through an ebay store and make sure it is unlocked so you can use it with your current carrier

I buy & sell on Ebay weekly. No problems so far & I've been doing it for about 5 yrs.

My mom had someone hack into her PayPal acct - but I never have & I've been using it for 5 yrs as well. PayPal makes everything easier IMO.

Just be sure if you buy a cell that you CAN use it thru your service company.

Mostly I have had good experiences buying and selling on ebay, but you will always have those people who do abuse it, and rip you off. just make sure you deal with someone that has a good reputation.

Cell phones, cell phones. I have bought so many cell phones off eBay. The best thing for you to do is to make sure you get a good deal. Check the prices on the phone you want because the main point of eBay is to buy IT for less. Bidding for a cell phone can be hard because if there are other bidders, there is a very thin chance of you winning it unless you beat them out. BUY IT NOWs are a good option if you don't want to bid and want the phone ASAP, just make sure you aren't being ripped off. But all in all, I've bought maybe 60 cell phones off eBay for the past 2 years and have had success in using them. One more thing, all sellers on eBay have feedback scores. Make sure you check the sellers feedback before you bid. Good Luck.

ebay is as safe as YOU make it!

the cell phone category is thick with fraud!

but you CAN buy one safely if you remember this:

if you are buying on ebay, ALWAYS

pay through PAYPAL and fund it with a CREDIT CARD.

then if anything goes wrong and PAYPAL can't get you a refund, you then have the option of filing for a CHARGEBACK through your CC provider.
