  1. Type in 'crime capital of the world' and see what the first results are that you see.  Like the others say, stay with your tour group.

  2. Not safe at all. You're taking your life in your own hands.

Talking likelihood of being attacked? The odds are are not in your favour compared to other destinations worldwide.

  3. The weather's great! It will be nice and warm, but bring a jacket or two, since it can still get a bit nippy, especially if it's raining (but then our idea of cold can be vastly different than someone else's).

It's safe enough to visit, as long as you're vigilant and don't walk around the city alone (especially after dark). Just like anywhere else in the world, there are places that should be avoided and places that are safer.

  4. I live in jhb and I'm white...it is safe, but obviously there is crime like everywhere else in the world, and there are some places you should not go to especially after dark. But if you're with a whole lot of people its much safer.

The weather is super hot in November, cuz its SUMMER! =]

  5. I think everyone whos said it isnt safe is wrong

I just came back yesterday from johanneburg, durban and capetown (holiday/tourism) with my family of four.

they were amazingly beautiful! johannesburg is just lovely and the people are seriously unbelievably nice and so kind! ive seen many white tourists who looked very happy to be there! you should go to canopy tours! it was amazing and lesedi cultural village was just LOVELY! you should definitly go, its just like any other country! you do everything you do in london or us or anywhere else.

  6. I left there a few months back now and I really do miss Jo'burg! The weather is great during November, so loose fitting clothes would be fine. I'm not going to lie and say its the safest city in the world, because its not. Just like everywhere, be careful - ie, don't carry loads of money or look flashy as you will be a target.

  7. I have some friends who visited Johannesburg, as long as you with tourist group you are safe, don't walk alone, and finelly check this website
