How safe is it to holiday in Egypt?

My fiance and I are thinking of going to Cairo this year, how safe is it for holiday makers? I hear all these stories about people getting killed on holiday, and it's making me very wary!

itis safe n egypt you can come any time and enjoy your time.but try to use your eyes don,t blive every thing you hearing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That`s ok my uncle goes to Egypt every year, just don`t  dive and swim in the Nile river because it has some deathly viruses in the water.
