  1. There is no "One size fit's all" answer to this. It depend's on where, and with whom. Some operators are just plane unsafe. Now, how do you know which is which?

Here in Mazatlan, there was on rather shakey guy, but he lost his permit. If you were coming here, I would recommend "Tony Bannana". For two reasons. I have known him 20 years and uses only the best equipment and will NOT take people on unsafe days. (Too much or too little wind) Second, the place he launches from is a vacant lot with no highrises around it fo very safe to get people back down.

I sugguest you spend a day or two asking around. You will hear story's, and if you hear several about the same guy, go somewhere else.

  2. I would not go parasailing in Mexico. I would not trust the equipment in Mexico.  There are the safe guards you would have in the United States, which you do not have in Mexico.

A friend of mine was in Mexico and he had said about people being injured parasailing.   Afterwards the company involved  just opened under another name.

I would recommend that you try parasailing here in the USA.  It will be much safer.

I would also suggest trying to fly a powered parachute.   Think of it as a parasail without a rope attached.  You can fly it where you want.

I am biased.   I own and fly a powered parachute.   I have over 120 solo hours in the air in mine.

In your case you would ride as a student with an instructor on a two seat unit.   A powered parachute is very safe, and easy to fly, my wife has even flown solo.   She loved it.

The first video is by Troy Townsend.   He is a good friend and we have been flying our aircraft together.   I have also flown out of the field that he shows in the video.

I do not about the person who did the second video.   The video gives a good view of a landing in a powered parachute.

The price of a ride with an instructor, in my area is $ 70.00 for about a 20 minute ride.

It is a fantastic ride and a fantastic hobby.  With a powered parachute you can skim 10 feet over the ground beside a row of trees.  It really gives you a feeling of flying.   A powered parachute can skim the ground or go up thousands of feet.  I have flown 5500 feet above ground level in mine.

Check the Internet to find a dealer near you.

    Have a great time!!!

  3. WHY IN mexico?????????????

  4. hi

well, i´ve done it a couple times, i am mexican and i live in puerto vallarta, and i can tell you, there´s nothing to be afraid of. of course you will hear all sort of stories about it, but the truth is you have as much probability of being struck by a lightning than of being in a parasailing accident. Instructions are very simple, the view is amazing and it is actually quite relaxing when you are up there.

just of course, so you can really enjoy your ride and not worry about any other thing, check the weather before going up, and so you can feel at ease, sit for a while and watch other people do it. That way you will know what to expect and you will feel a lot better knowing that people actually survive LOL

have a great trip and enjoy the ride!!

  5. its REALLY fun. and safe, as long as the people doing it are certified.  i HATE scary rides and stuff and i enjoyed it. im sure you will too. dont miss out on a great chance
