How safe is the area of Maryland with the zip code 20772?

I have coworkers who live in UPPER MARLBORO and all around there has been tremendous growth with huge upscale colonials and even gated communities.  Of course there are older homes and for PG COUNTY it along with a few other places are some of the safer places but of course nothing compared to FAIRFAX COUNTY <= which also has bad areas in low income parts but at least they step up patrols and a Zero Tolerance Policy makes even Bad Guys think twice bec if arrested and you are an immigrant with no US citizenship, talk about deporting you keeps crime down considerably.

Depends on where you are.  One side of town can be excellent, while another is not so good.  There are million dollar homes, and low-income homes.

And to the comment about SE DC, I work in SE, around $1M+ TINY little townhomes, remember SE makes up 1/2 of Capital Hill.

But anyway, my Realtor always told me to drive around the area during the late morning early afternoon.  If there are a bunch of able bodied men hanging around doing nothing, then it could be a shady area.

Thats Upper Marlboro. Depends on which part. Most of it is very nice, sort of a wooded, country setting with very large new homes homes. There are a few parts that are a bit shady but overall it is one of the better parts of the counties.

Upper Marlboro, MD isn't dangerous like Detroit or SE Washington DC.  But compared to its wealthier neighboring counties, it is viewed as perhaps a bit less safe.
