After weeks of searching a place to move by jan 2009. I think I found a good deal already. The flat is located near the interseption of Sunset Blvd and Sloat Blvd in the Sunset District. I don't want to let this offer go because the room has own bathroom and utilies are included for $600 and $600 deposit. I'm thinking about fly in a couple weeks to see the place.

This question goes to natives from SF, Do you think this area is safe? Tell me whatever you want about this area pleasee

I will appreciate your help

  1. The neighborhood is pretty safe, and the Sunset tends to be a less expensive place to rent.

That being said, you definitely pay for location in this city. I live in North Beach where (generally speaking) there are more attractions close at hand, and the weather's typically nicer, but my rent sure isn't cheap.

You'll find it's a trade-off and you're likely to get what you pay for. Good luck!

  2. Yes, it's safe, but very busy traffic-wise.  If you don't have a garage, parking could be a nightmare.  But that's just one of the lovely things about living in SF.

  3. Yes the area is safe.  It is however in the Sunset which means it is a distance to the city center and quite often foggy.

  4. The area is safe. You will be close to Lake Merced which has a path around it for jogging or biking. Close to the Ocean too. You can also take Sunset directly to Golden Gate Park.
