  1. perfectly safe

  2. its safer to wear the diaper than not, that is why babies in icu wear them, they are open to infection without them

  3. It is definitely safe! They use them in hospital as soon as the baby is born. To avoid nappy rash you just ensure you change the nappy regularly enough so the skin doesn't stay wet.

I have never heard of the legs getting wider...

I've had 2 babies and both wore nappies from birth and neither have wide legs, nor have they had nappy rash.

    Hope this helps you!

  4. irrespective of what my mom in law had to tell me about the baby not being able to walk properly n widening of legs n all..i put both my babies on diapers since their birth..even while i was at the hospital the nurses made the baby wear a diaper n not cloth nappies n all..

u just need to be a lil extra careful..change the diaper often...buy a gud brand(diapers a lil strain on ur pocket)....remember to change the diaper at night n put a thick layer of vaseline at night before going to sleep...even if the kid gets a rash keep SUDO cream handy it works very well..

trust me its convinent & handy..but remember to keep the baby diaper free for some time during the day..also dont make the baby wear the diaper when the skin is wet...hope my experence wud help...take care..

  5. they are fine for the baby.

  6. Using diapers, as opposed to... what?

When I've been in premie nurseries, those babies had diapers on. So what do you think?

How can you not be sure about the truth of something you call a misconception?

  7. Yes they are perfectly safe. Just make sure you change your baby every 2 hours, at least, to prevent rashes and use baby powder to keep them dry. Diapers do not make babies legs wider.

  8. It should be fine, just be sure to change the baby as often as they need it.  Newborns tend to pee a lot, and the less you make them sit in a wet or dirty diaper, the better off they will be.  Be ready to change their diaper as much as 15 or more times a day, but it's worth it to change them frequently to avoid dealing with rashes - not to mention the yuckiness of letting them sit in their own urine.  Letting your baby go diaper free for a bit each day is good for their skin.

There are a growing number of people who are concerned about all the chemicals & petroleum products in disposable diapers, and are deciding to use cloth diapers instead.  They are often made with all natural, breathable fibers like cotton, bamboo and wool, so this might be something to look into also.  Depending on what system you use, you can get everything you need for as little as a couple hundred dollars - so it can be much less expensive than spending thousands of dollars on disposables.

We have been using cloth diapers on my son for about a year, and I love it.

  9. About 99% of babies wear disposable diapers.  Babies get rashes, whether or not they are wearing them.  They are definitely safe.

  10. Diapers are perfectly safe for the baby.  People have been using diapers for many, many years with perfectly healthy children.
