  1. The first guy is not completely right and you cannot punt a ball, i.e. kick from your hands thru the posts, rectly to get points.

It's 5 pts for a try and 2 more if it is converted. A conversion can be either a place kick or a drop kick (which can save time!)

A penalty try is when the other team deliberately try to stop you from scoring  a try in an unfair way..this is the converted directly in front of the posts. Finally it's 3 points for a drop goal or a full  penalty.

  2. Well,

There are about 4 types of ways to put points on the score board,

One way, is to be holding the football in your hands, and when your over the try line (The last 5 metres in the 100 metre playing field) you place the ball down in that zone, without dropping it or anything. You will score 4 points for you team. It is called a try.

After you get a Try, you will be in a position to 'Convert' the ball into the goal posts, That means, The ball will be placed on a tee where you scored the try, and then you kick it from the 10-20 metre line, it has to go through the posts to get points. this will reward you with 2 points.

Another way to score some points, is to Drop Kick the ball, to do this, you have to have the ball in your hands, then drop it, and when it hits the ground you kick it just before it comes back up. You have to get it through the goal posts to score some points. This will add 2 points to your teams total.

The last way to score a point, is a penalty kick, it is called 'Going for Goal'. if someone on the other team penalises you, then you have 3 options ( i think ), one is to kick for touch, Scrum, or go for goal. In Go for goal, the ball will be placed on the tee, and you have to kick the ball from where ever your penalty was rewarded, it also has to go though the goal posts, that would be about 2 points there.

Well, I hope this helps you cause my fingers are bloody tired, Cya

  3. A try: 5pts, by touching down the ball in the opponents' in-goal

There must be downward pressure on the ball with any part of the arm or front part of the body (youe back or leg will not do.)

Conversion after the try: 2 pts.   Kick taken anywhere along a line through the spot where the ball was first touched down.

Penalty kick: 3 pts, from point at which a major infraction was awarded.

Drop goal: 3 pts.  A kick from any place during open play; the ball must first strike the ground and then struck with the foot as it rises

Note: A kick is with any part of the foot EXCEPT the heel.

  4. The aim of the game is very simple: score more points than the other team.

You do this by scoring trys, conversions, drop goals and penalties in your opponent's goal area.

If both teams score the same amount or no points are scored then the match is a draw.

5 points for a try (ground ball over try line)

2 points for a conversion (Place-kick between uprights)

A conversion kick may only be attempted after a try.

Therefore 7 points for a converted try.

N.B A penalty try may be awarded at the referee discretion. (Rare-ish)

    Others are all 3 points:

    Drop Kick (general play)

Penalty Kick (Place-Kick from penalty awarded)

  5. The first guy had it right except there are 4 ways to take a penalty you can also punt it.

  6. Try = 5 points

    Conversion = 2 points

  7. 1) Touch the ball down withen the last 5 meters of the pitch,

    This is a 'TRY'  =  5 points.

    2) After the 'try' is scored, time is paused and the teams 'kicker' kicks the ball from either the 10 or 20 meter line, he aims for in between the posts,

    This is a  'CONVERSION'  =  2 points.

    3) If during normal play the player with the ball becomes open near the goal he can take a  'DROP GOAL'  kick it between the posts.

This is a drop goal =  2 points.

    4) If the team gets a penaltie, time stops and the kicker kicks the ball either

      a) between the posts (if close)  =  3 points

      b) out of bounds and their team gets a line out (throw in, posession)

    Summerise;

    1) A try               =   5 points

    2) If converted   =  2 points so 7 points in total.

    3) Drop goal      =  2 point

    4) Penalte kick  =  3 points

  8. Try by day, score by night.
