  1. wireless is pretty secure once your network is secured..

but of course data can get captured wirelessly, although it'll be encrypted.

But i suggest just directly plugging into an ethernet cable if you're paranoid.

  2. internet banking is safe but you need to change your internet settings to make sure that you don't save encrypted pages to disk which stops info being saved on your computer.

to do this in Internet explorer go to tools and internet options and then advanced and scroll down to near the bottom and tick the box do not save encrypted pages to disk and apply

    hope it helps

  3. As long as you have good up to date anti virus software on your PC and at least WPA encryption on your wireless connection then you are as secure as you can get without using a cable.

The anti virus software is probably the most important bit!

  4. Ask you bank what the insurance policies are with your account if things go wrong

  5. Well, you know. But if your bank has at least two or three security questions, then you are safer.

  6. i can help you here, just give me your details ie bank account and sort code, its fine trust me i just need to confirm you are who you say you are

  7. Not secure at all!

    Do the wired one.

  8. In theory it's slightly less secure than using a wire, as the data is being transmitted through the ether, where it can be grabbed by passers by. However, most people (surely!) use some form of wireless encryption on the basic data packets, and the bank will normally use https, so you have at least two levels of encryption.

And I think you are protected against fraud - the bank pays if things go wrong, but it'd still be hassle.

Having said that, there are a lot of 'open' wireless networks, and it's more and more common for networks to  be open for roaming schemes.

I think most fraud will come from people hacking sites where your details are, rather than going thru the extra pain of trawling for open communications. There's easier fraud options out there.

So, in short - it's not as secure as a wired connection, but so long as you take sensible precautions fairly safe.

  9. I do mine the old fashioned way. I'd never trust giving out any personal information , especially numbers  on line.
