My summer internship ended and my boss's wife just got an infection. I was supposed to get progress review, but he emailed saying he might stay home to support his wife. The progress review is way more important to me. What can I do?

  1. just listen to him what he says and do it poliety

  2. Just tell him you are sorry to hear about his wife and hope she gets well.  Say while you understand his need to stay home to support his wife it is imperative your school get a progress report from your summer internship and you would very much appreciate if he could find the time to send it to them by _____________ (fill in date).  You don't want to sound insensitive to his wife's illness however you need your progress report.  You may want to talk to the people at school to inform them of the situation and follow up with them by the date you gave your boss to see if he sent it.

  3. Work is not more important than his wife. He will take care the progress review later. At this time you should at least say " sorry about your wife" and thats that. I mean you dont have to get really personal and sensitive. If you dont want to say that. dont say anything at all and just do what he tells you..

  4. blah blah

  5. oh i know them sort of situations, you feel bad but you really really need something. maybe if you E-mail him back and be symathetic ask how his wife is but say you need the progress review. offer to do the leg work like collect the forms and drop them off or go round his. and make him feel as if he is doing you a massive favour and he is important and you are very greatful always works for me.
