Well, while I can sit here and tell you why it is so serious, you can also look up your own information so that it is unbiased.

BUT i will still tell you anyways, because I am very passionate about conserving and what not...

One of the biggest reasons why you should be concerned is that, yeah we can conserve and 'try to save earth', what is this save the earth and what not, the earth will survive, it always does, we are the ones that won't survive!

There are also many other things,

Food sources being depleted.

In 2020 it is projected that we will have a water crisis that will look the oil crisis look like a joke.

Certain animal species will go extinct.

There will be wars over food and water.

With the water levels rising, this will dis-place millions, making more refugees,, sound familiar?

Global Warming is seriouse even though it dosnt seem that bad. Most people don't mind it because they are happy that spings coming sooner. But the big picture is that the result of Global warming will kill us! It started back in the prehistoric days, with volcanoes being the primary sorce of CO2 gasses. Then a meteor struck killing the dinosaurs sending them underground with all the CO2 emissions from the volcnoes and meteor strike. Then humans evolved and we discovered coal. A fossil fuel, made up of the decayed animals and CO2 gases. We are using those fossile fuels in cars and factories sending them back in the air. Which causes the earth to heat up which makes glaciers melt, which causes floods, which causes millions to losses their homes. The average earth tempurature has increassed by 1 degress ferinhite within the last 200 years and will raise another 5 degrees until the world completely ends civilization.

The UN just came out with their new data. NO GLOBAL WARMING IN THE LAST 10 YEARS!!!! It was and is a hoax. The study says that it has actually cooled this year due to La Nina effect.

Global warming rocks. It's 88 degrees here in the Hub o' the Universe. It should be summer in a couple of more weeks. Can't wait for triple digit temps again. I hate cold.

Global warming is nothing but a scam perpetrated by Al Gore because he got mad at Bush for stealing his presidency. Sour grapes, nothing more. Well, that, and a sure way to fleece the sheep, if you get my drift.

Polar bears dying because there is not enough ice for them.  They have farther to swim.  Lakes drying up in the US.  Not as much rain.  And do you remember the snow we use to get when we were younger.  I do, in the early  80"s  we use to get snow in lower Ontario that would be 5-8 feet high.  We don't get near that.  All the smog days, insane.  The severity of tornadoes and hurricanes.  The list is endless.

Every little bit that we can change in our lives makes a difference.  We are all working together to stop abusing our planet.  What is so hard for everyone to figure out.  This is the only Earth we have.  We can't pack our bags and move!!

Leaving Mr. Gore out of the equation, it's a fact and there is no disputing it.  It's a cyclical thing this planet goes through every few million years or so.  Our increasing population and general disregard for natural resources isn't exactly slowing the process down either.

Global warming is really serious. it is caused by incerase in climate change which is a result of greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide

these GHG's increase sensible heat in the atmosphere. this can lead to (which is already happening) melting of the ice caps.

melting ice caps= rising sea level= salt water intrusion into aquifers= lose of magroves= flooding of coastal countries= change in weather patterns= increase rain/dry weather and or natural disasters such as hurricanes from increased sea temp and humidity in air.

also extinction of some types of flora/fauna or decrease in number of species. destruction of farm lands and crops. decreased quality and quantity of freah water available. and lots more.

Is "going green" going to help??  Probably not.

The truth is that there are many factors contributing to the issue we face in global warming, but how much of it is really in our control? Our green measures can help... but what if it's only a minor part of what global warming is? Some scientists believe in alternate theories of why some of the things happening on our planet are happening. One being the earth is in an ovular orbit right now (it goes in cycles from one to the other) as opposed to the circular orbit we have been in. It's true google it.  Also, some argue that the moon distancing itself from the earth every year plays some role in the weather patterns (due to wave fluctuations).

Sorry for the winded rant, so to simplify... how serious is global warming? No more than you or I can worry about, unless of course you can push the moon closer to us or straiten out our current orbit around the sun.
