  1. Hey Charlton we miss you at the NRA!!! It is an absolute shock to them. It was a brilliant move on McCain's part. She is attractive and dynamic and has an excellent background of having made some real changes is Alaska. she also has no problem with drilling for oil in Alaska. She sealed the deal for me. My vote will be for McCain/Palin in Nov.

  2. Alot of women want a woman representative, if McCain hadn't walked away a winner before, he surely has now.  The women who were to vote for Hillary, will now go with McCain!!!  Obamas full birth abortion, new taxes and lack of experience in politics or in military are his demise!

  3. Very severely.

Instead of praising Obama's wonderful acceptance speech the chattering class will spend the long weekend talking about Palin.  Only time Obama gets mentioned is to ponder whether the unknown from Alaska has more relevant experience than the Dem first chair.

  4. Only a little bit.

Palin was a good choice in that it sopped the momentum from the Dems convention.  Palin will dominate the news for at least a few days.  Wheras we would have been talking about the Dems convention and Obama's big speech for days on end.

But after a week it will be back to normal and the VPs will not make that big of a difference in the race.

  5. It has strengthened it.  Republicans are critized for not understanding what average people go through.  Believing throwing a woman into the mix will get votes is proving that point.  As an average woman I am astonished and offended at this VP selection.  It's par for repubs in my opinion and strengthens my belief in the democratic party.

  6. Au contraire, it has made us much more secure! It just intensifies the lack of intelligence of John McCain!

  7. I think McCain give to the Democrats a big favor with this pick

  8. thrown them off their game????  Not at all.

It's a loopy choice, to be sure though!!!

It's just keeps getting curiouser and curiouser............

McCain wails against Obama for lack of experience and then picks a former BEAUTY QUEEN for the "one heart beat away from the presidency " spot.

    He's joking , right?

or is  he that desperate for the women's vote?

or needed to cause the biggest UPROAR possible to drown out Obama in Denver?

    well, whatever...........

I am sure her turn thru the grinding mill awaits........

so this should be interesting, at least.............

Hilliary must be rolling over in her politcal grave..............

  9. They've come completely unhinged. They started revising their remarks within hours. Obama blamed the first foolish attacks on his aides. "I think, you know, campaigns start getting these hair triggers. And the statement that Joe and I put out reflects our sentiments." Ha! This is going to be fun!

  10. They are totally shell-shocked.  It was so much fun watching them flounder around with their contradictory responses yesterday.

Obama himself was so flustered, he said that Palin "represented more of the same"!  WTF?!?  She has real executive experience, a true reformer, fighting corruption within her own party - a real agent of change - not someone who just talks about change.  Someone who has actually DONE it.

    It was a brilliant choice.

  11. They are destroying themselves with their distorted and hateful sexist attitude.

  12. Based on the answers and responses you see here on Y!A, it didn't just throw them off their game.  It catapulted them out of the park!

  13. Only because she is an unknown, but most people are catching on.

  14. It hasn't. Its helped the democrats.

  15. Yes picking Palin has thrown them off their game.

Who is discussing Obama's speech? What are they discussing? Palin and McCain!

Palin has more experience then Obama. She is a female, an independent female, she isn't no girly girl. I believe she can take on those who will disavow her. She is more like the majority of women out here in the USA.

  16. Um alot. and now McCain will get increase is chance on winning the election, he only picked Sarah Palin because shes a woman and when hilary clinton dropped out, there was ALOT of women wanting her to win and so there, McCain decided to pick a woman so now ppl r going to think, "ohh theres a woman whos VP!" so now most of the clinton woman/man fans MIGHT lean toward McCain

  17. It's united the party. The Clinton people are will be ripped her to shreds like wild dogs. I'm going to love it. they know that Palin is no Hillary. They are insulted by the comparison. what was going to be lukewarm support, will now be a raging storm.

  18. Obumma doesnt know what to do since the press has forgotten about him for a few days, and Michelle O probably has smoke coming out of her ears

  19. It's been a big surprise especially the next day after the Apollo speech.  It will be interesting to see the biden Palin debate.  One thing Palin has biden does not, a big persoanlity and a lieability factor.  People like Biden, but he can't excite anyone.

  20. There is nothing in her background to fear.

  21. Dems are stupid and falling for McCain's decoy

They think he picked Palin to go after Hillary female supporters and anyone with a brain knows that a pro-life choice isn't going to accomplish that.

    Instead McCain has

    1. secured the cristain base and created enthusiasm within the evangelicals

    2. 78% of voters want drilling, McCain now has a candidate who will tell voters how oil/gas hhas benefitted the people of Alaska and someone who knows first hand more details about enviromental laws than any of Barak's advisors.

    3. Congress only has a 9% approval rating. MccAin has selected someone with a record of reform, fighting corruption (in  her own party is a bonus), ethics reform and working with memebers of both parties.

Dems are falling for the decoy , while MCain is targeting disenfranchised voters who are tired of politics as usual and want the country to drill for oil.

    Smart move

  22. This is the most astute, shrewd, and politically savvy pick that John McCain could have made. I am so proud that he picked a woman as his running mate. I was a lukewarm supporter of John McCain before this pick yesterday.

Today...I am sending him a campaign donation and signing up as a volunteer in my local GOP party headquarters. GO SARAH PALIN!!!!
