  2. Vanakkam, Namaskar and Namaskaram are all the words for greeting elders

  3. Greet an elderly has the parts:

    1. A title to call first  - like Bapuji, Bhaiya,Bhenji, Guruji, Madam,Sir, xxxx(name)ji, etc

    2.Honour - with folded hands as symbolic and to say "Namasteji" or if he/she is closely related, touch his feet by right hand and to keep it on forehead

    3. Best for elderly friends, business associates and colleagues: To say, "Hello Sir, how are you?" and to shake hands!

    the method and manners needs to be learned for perfection to impress on them!

If u meet a we stern elder u can say or wish him like hello, Good morning, good evening like,If u r wishing a Elderly Muslim gentleman u will say Adaab or Salamvalekum.If u r wishing a Hindu elderly person Say Namashkar,Namasthe or just by touching his feet showing respect. Every country and custom has got its own style of greeting/wishing elders.
