  1. You can surf in about 2 feet of water depending on how big the swells and how long your fins are!

  2. not any closer than waist to knee high because other wise you will damage your fins

  3. yea basically what six_***** said

but i have surfed 2-3 feet deep once

    (not a good decision) haha

  4. I've long boarded in water shallow enough that I was dragging my fin over bumps on the sandbar.

  5. im from hawaii. so my waters  a  little deeper than urs. but in about 6 or 7 feet of water. u can boogie board in about 3 or 4 feet of water. but it rlly depends on your sweel that day. if it's good u can surf in about 3 or 4 feet but if it's bad it's 6 or 7.  hope this helped.

  6. You don't want to surf in anything lower than 3 feet unless the swell is 1-2 foot.

  7. man as much as you want. smack incomming boogie boarders. flip off some tube riders. all until you feel your fins dig into the sand, the board under you takes a complete stop & you fly off

  8. I've surfed in 1-2 feet of water lots of times. Depends on the tide. You can "surf" white water close to shore, but to catch waves, you need to paddle out past where it's breaking. That distance is determined by your break.

  9. First of all, it depends on what is on the bottom.  You really do not want to be surfing in anything shallower than three to four feet deep if you are surfing over rocks or coral.  As for a sandy bottom, I have surfed six foot waves in 1-3 feet over sand at The Wedge in California.  Yahoo The Wedge in California and you'll get an idea of what I am talking about.
