How short is the 50yd. freestyle?

& also, the ;100 yd, 500yd, 200 yd

i'm pretty much confused about how long these would be..

approximately a lap of the pool perhaps? i have no idea. help please? =(

In a standard pool, 1 lap is equal to 25 yards.

Therefore a 50 would be 2 laps, a 100 would be 4, a 500 would be equal to 20 laps, and a 200 would be 8 laps.  1 lap in a typical meter pool (long course) is equal to 2 laps of yard swimming

A lap is 25yds.  The 50 is 2 laps.  This distance is half a football field.  100yds is 4 laps,  200yds is 8 laps, 500yds. is 20 laps.  Only outdoor pools are meters, and can be 25 or 50 meters, usually 25, college pools 50meters

there are usually two sizes of pools, 25metre and 50metre

in the olympics they use a 50metre but a lot of normal pools are only 25metres
