How short is too short for a casual dress?

I'm 18 and I absolutely *love* dresses. I take a lot of inspiration from mod style - pairing short dresses with tall boots and heels.

I get compliments that I look cute and people say that I dress well, but ever since this one woman commented on the length of one of my dresses, I've been self conscious about it and have all of a sudden noticed more people looking at me. I personally feel comfortable in what I wear, but I don't want to offend anyone or give them the impression that I am a w***e.

I'd say an average length of my dress is about half-way to my knee, occasionally shorter..

I am very conscious of my body language, making sure to never show anything. Occasionally I'll wear the dresses with leggings, but sometimes it just honestly looks better without.

So what do you think? How short is too short?

haha well when u make me wear a dress, lol.. i personally like my shorts, and track pants, those kinda things, oh and MY JEANS..... gosh wat would i do w.o jeans, but i do wear skirts, and id say (i have really LONG hands) but 1 hand length down from wear i where my clothes on my hips, as long as its one hand length down and my booty dont show its fine

If you have to constantly pull it down when you're sitting to make sure you aren't revealing yourself, then it's obviously too short.

Mid-thigh may be suggestive to some people, but isn't whorish unless the body language that goes along with it is. Sounds like you're not that kind of person, so I'd say you're okay.

Perhaps you never noticed it before, but people have probably been looking at you all along. We're trained to do so by movies, television and other elements of popular culture. This is true of both men and women, as evinced by the woman who commented.

I don't see how halfway to your knee is too short. That woman was probably just a prude. I think anything shorter than that is too short, though.

short is wen u sit down and u can see everything under neath the dress....if too much thigh is showing than dats short
