  2. Shortage of water obviously effects the plant growth and finally the yield.

    Solution to overcome this problem is sellection of drought resistant crop varieties.

  3. It's hard to get things to grow without water.

    Artificially irrigated areas ( orchards in the Arizona desert, for example) may have to revert back to their natural state.

    No rice production, for sure.  The whole Asian continent will have to convert to potatoes, making it hard to feed everyone.

    Solution:  

    Stop growing things in deserts through artificial water projects.

    Convert sea water to fresh water.

    Conserve, conserve, conserve.
