How should I Introduce my project?

Question

I'm doing a socials project on ancient Rome and I am having trouble on the introduction. Basically it's A Duotang with a tittle page and has a map 3 subjects (Gods, Soldiers and Wars, Goverment and 1 important person (Augustus) I have to write a whole page typed in French (I'm in French Emmersion here DUHHH!!) So I need a good introduction (in English) Thanks

Many scholars consider the Roman Empire the greatest of all the great empires of the ancient world.

The Greeks, the Egyptians and the Babylonians created the environment from which a defining culture could be manifested.  The Romans stood on the shoulders of the greats of other cultures, and synthesized them all into an amalgam of gods, warriors and governmental processes which still stand as a shining examples of the limitless potential of man, but, also the inevitable dissolution of greatness when complacency overwhelms due diligence.
