How should I announce my 30th birthday party?

My 30th birthday is in August and my husband is throwing a party for me. It’s going to be at a bar where we are well respected and known. Besides the fact that he has sent invites to our family and close friends I also want many of my old school friends that I have recently reconnected with through facebook and myspace to be invited. I haven’t seen them besides staying in touch with them through the sites. My husband doesn’t use these sites, so I’ll have to do the posting. So, I want to post a bulletin on myspace and also an event on facebook for this. What would be a good announcement? I suck at this. Here’s a little info if anyone can share some ideas on how to properly announce this. The party will be on August 19th around 9pm at McKee’s Pub, appetizers will be served. And maybe throw in a little intro about me turning 30 before the details.

i would let it be known in your local newspaper, and if you have grown up there invite everyone from your year at  high school like a kinda reunion also, leave a number so they can call you! also you could always leave flyer's around your area asking for all your school chums from the year you left to a party that way loads of new and old faces turn up and as you say hi to them all let them know its your bday also!

Ok well i CAN help but heres the thing...

when u announce stuff on Fbook or MySpace etc people will come hoo rnt supposed 2.. dont ask wy.. they just do! anyhoo..

I have no other answer.. lol.. i suck at this 2!

I wouldn't post it online...not a good idea. The invite doesn't seem as official, it may sound like anyone can come, you want it to be a small get together.

You should ask for their address and send them the invite. If that will be to time consuming, just ask for their number and give them a call. Don't worry they won't mind. This way, you can be sure that only they get the message and you can get a direct response back.
