  1. if your asking dose question than you have not done you research

  2. Bring it home in a shoe box. When you get home, place him in his cage so he can get used to it. Feed him hamster pellets from the pet store. A healthy hamster looks alert and not sluggish.

  3. Hi!

Usually you will receive the hamster fully packed in a small box with holes. But I've learned from experience that is best to be prepare and have a shoe box or something else with you in case the pet shop runs out of boxes:D.

A healthy hamster is active, curious, has clean and shiny fur and shiny eyes . Make sure to check his belly before you buy it to make sure that he hasn't wet tail(an affection very common among hamsters, especially at those in pet shop).

When you buy the food make sure that is hamster/gerbil and not for rabbits. This kind of food could be poisonous for your tiny hamster. The hamster needs his daily seeds and other food to chew on  - hamster mix.

When you arrive with your hammy at home make sure that is quite in the room in which you keep the hamster's cage because he will most likely be scared. Put the box in the the cage and let him wonder around in the cage. If you notice that he is scared it will be better if you could not touch it because he needs some time to get use to the new hommie.

  4. You should bring it home in a shoebox or the pet store will give you a box.

A healthy hamster has shiny fur.

Hamster food from the pet store, a teaspoon of diced carrots every week, a teaspoon of diced apples every week and a teaspoon of plain oatmeal twice every week.

Put the hamster in it's cage before it chews through the box.

  5. You get a little box for the hamster (cardboard with holes is fine) and put sawdust in it and put the hamster in and carry it home gently. Then leave the box in the cage and the hamster will come out when it is ready to explore its surroundings. You buy hamster mix from pet shops and they eat that, they LOVE monkey nuts but you can only give them as treats! A healthy hamster has shiny fur and bright eyes, and comes to the front of the cage in the pet shop to see you. It will be energetic.

Good luck with your hammie! You sound like you're ready for it :)
