I just bought a new 2009 corolla XRS in black color and I want to change the exterior color to blue streak metallic. The only reason I bought the black color is because it was the only XRS in my state. How much would it cost and is it worth changing the color to blue?

  1. Cost depends upon many factors.. The body shop you pick

What kind of paint  and clear coat you chose

    graphics  you add.

and just remember this ... change the color and you need to visit the DMV and get a new Title and Reg.

Also if you  leased  the car  you could run into a problem later when you turn it back in. You might be charged a hefty fee  to paint it back to black.

  2. If you want a nice paint job then it will cost you a couple grand. Repainting a brand new car will lower its value, but not much. Then you also have to go and get the color changed on the title of your car. So basically, it boils down to how much you really want it to be blue. Do not try and paint it yourself. I've known a few people who have but its not worth it. Definitely take it to a professional.

P.S. If you sand it yourself down to base coat, if will save you a lot of money.

  3. Change it problably to a Silver-Blue

Top of car Silver and fade into Grey-Blue

  4. spray it

  5. spray paint

  6. If you have the money go for it!

a good job = couple grand

  7. take it to the home depot and buy a nice bucket of paint.

or take a picture and photoshop it.

or my personal favorite, take it to andrew tech and have them supe it uppp

  8. You could have done is you can get special order for your brand new car. You can tell dealer that you want blue interior. It's take few week for the car get ready.

Take it to upholstery shop to get estimate.

  9. depends on what you want it should cost about a grand, but I don't suggest you should because it will lower the value of your car

  10. No , it's not worth it dude. But if you have the means (monay!) then go for it.  For what you want $4,000- 8,000!ypical costs:

MAACO is a national low-cost chain that can often paint a car for between $250-$400.

Middle of the road auto body shops often will quote prices between $1,000 and $2,000, depending on the amount of work.

Custom body shops can charge $4,000 to $8,000 if it involves removing many parts, changing the color of the car, detailing the engine, rebuilding mechanical parts, chrome plating, etc.

Tip: Be sure to ask about a shop's warranty. Bad paint jobs are notorious for lasting less than three years. Warranties can run five years. A place like MAACO might offer a six month warranty against peeling.

    Additional costs:

There are many possible upgrades. Even at a discount shop such as MAACO, some customers will choose to upgrade the paint to a higher-quality one. Customers may also choose additional layers of paint (more than two) or a layer of clear coat.

When cars are repainted, sometimes they need body repairs beforehand. Small repair jobs (dents, etc.) can run $200-$500.

    Discounts:

Some body or auto painting shops will offer a discount of a few hundred dollars if the customer sands the car and removes or masks parts that aren't going to be painted. This reduces the preparation work (and labor costs) for the shop.

Be sure to shop around and compare quotes. Prices and quality can vary even within the same chain, such as MAACO.

Tip: Many customers recommended visiting and reviewing a body shop. Ask to look for a recently painted car and see if it was well done. Larger businesses may have a record at the Better Business Bureau. There should be a work area where the bodywork is done, and a paint booth. If it's not in use, you can ask to inspect the paint booth to see whether it is relatively clean and dust-free.
