  1. I learned that going into the conversation that you just need to be prepared for all the questions that they have.  If you can answer everything they come up with, they will most likely give it some thought and let you make the decision on your own.  It shows maturity.

  2. explain to them why your a vegetarian in a convincing

  3. tell them that animals are like us and how would they like to be killed for someone to make a dinner out of them

  4. Why should you have to convince your parents. It's your body, your beliefs that got you here and if you parents are what parents should be they will respect you for that decision and help you along that process.

  5. How old are you? That makes a big difference in the answer.

  6. Be educated and informed about being vegan, and what being vegan takes, is the best idea. Learn all you can about vegan nutrition, as this is often what many people have doubts about (those doubts, with a well planned vegan diet, are unfounded).

Be kind, patient and tactful as well, and try not to get argumentative and/or confrontational with people in any way. Offering to help with cooking or buying food for yourself always goes down a treat too.

Bear in mind, vegan is not so much about a diet itself as it is actually about living ethically, and with kindness and respect for all life - compassionate living towards all, animals and humans alike. That's something any parent can be proud of their daughter or son for.

    Good luck!

  7. say i can do what i want when i want

  8. Read up on peta.com and peta2.com and make sure you get your proteins and take vitamins to stay healthy! Basically just stop eating dairy and egg products - refuse them. They cant force you to eat it either.

  9. well show them books sites and videos to back you up and have a good reason for wanting to be a vegan

  10. If they are supportive of your vegetarianism, half the battle is already won.

Do your research.  A great resource for vegan nutrition is "Becoming Vegan" by Brenda Davis and Vesanto Melina.  if you go into the discussion knowing why veganism is important to you and how to make sure you're getting a balanced diet, you'll be able to address any objections they may have.

  11. Dont convince them, just follow your moral convictions. If this leads you into the vegan lifestyle (and mind you vegan is WAY more than a diet) then you will have the support from those that love you.

I am guessing your parents love you, hence you should be cool.

Vegan food is cheaper than meat and cheese if that helps.

Be sure to do research into the nutritional needs you will have as a vegan, most important being b12'vs.

    Good Luck!

  12. if your young enough to to be under the thumb of your parents then your too young to become a vegan

you need to be careful cause i know vegans personally and they wished that they waited until they were older before they stunted their growth or became sick all the time

  13. Why do you need to convince your parents? As long as they're willing to buy you vegan food, its your choice.
