How should I deal with a chipped tooth?

I chipped a upper front tooth two days ago. Its not too bad, and you might not notice unless I pointed it out, but it is then pretty noticeable. It is also hurting a bit-how urgent is getting it fixed, and how would it be dealt with?

  10. I chipped my front bottom tooth and it isn't that bad, but if i point it out to people it is noticeable. I've been dealing with it for about 4 years now, but it never really hurt. If it is hurting you, you should go to the dentist and have it filled. It's probably different everywhere but the dentist I go to said it would be about $160 to fix (even though its the smallest chip ever).

  11. Fight back

  12. go to the dentist!

  13. I would defenitly go to the dentist. If it is hurting, even a little, you probably have an exposed nerve and it will probably just get worse.

You dentist may suggest a crown or a filling depending on how bad the chip is. Worst case scenerio, root canal or extraction(pulled).

I chipped one of my back teeth once. At first it didn't hurt, didn't bother me at all. Then slowly it started to because I had exposed an nerve.  After a few week I was in total pain and no pain killers would work for me.

  14. Well usually they just do the same to what they do when you have a filling! Its a pretty quick process and they should have some filling stuff that matches your teeth color so wouldn't look so obvious!

  15. Umm go to the dentist.

  30. waite i chipped a tooth when i was in 6th grade and i didnt get a crown he just shaved it or somethig

  31. Not terribly urgent, I've chipped my teeth badly and gone like that for months looking like a hick before getting it fixed. If you have dental coverage though its worth gettting done even if it isnt really noticable. You notice more sensitivity to cold foods as time passes on. also, your tooth is not more brittle and vulnerable for future chips.
