I have no idea what I should do. I love animals and might like to do something with them, but I don't know what. I think I'd like to do something involving conservation but I don't really know how to get involved in that. Besides animals, I've always been interested in being a defense attorney, but I don't know how difficult it would be to get into that either. What do you think I should do?

  1. Look at how your grades are, what classes you took to prepare you, be realistic and consider finances, and read college degree requirements for different major fields. Interview with counselors, talk to friends and relatives, and in the end, make your decision.

  2. I would suggust taking a career test at your college or high school.

  3. I think you should go to see a counselor.

It's hard to tell, because it also depends on your grades and how far into high school you are.

Just research those careers indepth and see which ones actually interest you most. Look at what the job description is and then decide if that's what you want to do for the rest of your life.

  4. Since both of your interests are environmentally related, have you thought of an undergrad major in Environmental Sciences? This is a very broad major and would give you a wide experience base in both conservation, animal protection, and marine ecology. What's better, is that if you decide after undergrad that you really would like to attend law school. You could always apply with consideration as an environmental or marine policy attorney. Your application would prove more favorable than someone with a major in the law school standard, Political Science. Additionally, if you decide to apply to Vet School, you should have the biology and chemistry prerequisites covered within an environmental sciences major.
