Question:

How should I do my makeup on picture day?

So! Picture day is coming soon, but I'm not sure how to do my makeup to make myself look my best. I don't like to use a lot of anything, really...No foundation or cover-up or whatever.

One of my biggest concerns is that I've got baaad sleepy eyes with big, dark bags under my eyes. Is there something I could do maybe the day before pictures [or the day of] to help that? I've heard that putting something cold and metal against the puffiness helps, but I haven't tried that. Does it work?

How can I do my eye make up to make it look brighter, or how can I make them pop? I have long eyelashes and blue/gray eyes.

And just any suggestions at all to make myself look my best. I don't want to look majorly over done, but I'd still like to look nice.

I don't like to use a lot of anything, other than eye make up, lip gloss and some high-lighter [IE white eyeshadow to highlight areas of my face.]

  2. do the smokey eye

  3. keep it as natural as possible. as for the puffy-ness of the eyes, i would go to bed way earlier the night before. and avoid using the computer or the televison at least an hour before going to bed. rumor is that affects how well you sleep. if you do that and are still puffy make sure you have a concealor handy or foundation that matches your skin perfectly. simply dab some in and around the eye area, making sure your not getting any IN your eye, and viola! puffyness gone. make your eyes pop by lining them with perhaps a dark brown or black liner and some mascara. for shadow you could maybe use some white in the corners and then use a different color on your actual lid.

    remember to smile =]

  4. Yes you're right in wearing white as a highlighter. Bring out your eyes with a little more eye liner & mascara. Point your lashes outwards, even if your only using a brush. Use your lip & eye liner last,,after shadows & sticks.

About your eyes, yes tea bags, any kind esp chamomille, helps that. cucumber slices, really cold & good sleep. Meanwhile, sleep, & use a good slightly creamy concealer. Shaklee is a great one. There are some in stores, but make sure you get a creamy one that does not pull at your skin.

  5. Just use some black eyeliner, abit of black mascara, gloss, and a hint of peach shimmer blush.

For bags under your eyes, Choose concealer that's a shade lighter than your foundation. And if your circles are very dark, go 2 shades lighter. You might be choosing a concealer that's too light if you are getting a 'raccoon look.'

Some concealers you can get at any drugstore-

    Neutrogena Smoothing Skin Stick

    Cover Girl Smoothers Concealer

    Revlon New Complexion Concealer

Also try getting more sleep, drink more water, and try putting teabags (has caffeine) and cucumbers on your eyes..

  6. I had my picture day today, and I don't like to seem very made-up either, I like the natural look too. I did my eyes like I explain below and wore lipgloss-- thats it.

I used a peachy brown eyeliner, then covered my entire eyelid with a nude shadow (it makes color blend better). I put some light pink in the outer corners and blended it toward the middle of my eye, and put a tiny but of light grey-brown in the outer corner and blended it around the edge of my eye and into the crease. Then I put mascara on my upper and lower lashes.

I also used a white eyeshadow on the bottom  inner corner of my eyes and spread it outward along the lashline. It opens your eyes and gives a really "well-rested" look.

Good luck and I'm sure your pic will look awesome! :)

  7. To get rid of the dark circles under your eyes use something cold every night up until picture day, you should try the eye gel mask those work well  and get lots of sleep ... makeup wise i would suggest you using the same eyeshadow color as the color of your shirt, lipgloss and some mascara which will really bring out the lenght of your lashes and your eye color!

    good luck : )
