How should I dress in Sidney during July?

I live in Montreal (summer from May to August) and Am visiting Sydney, Australia and the Gold Coast in early July. I am fasion concious so I was wondering how to dress? During a Montreal summer bright colour come out,along with shorts, 3/4 pants, creme's and light colours. This is again our summer. But in Sydney, althought it is there winter it's still warm enough to wear montreal summer fashion. SO? Do I go about dressing as if I was in Montreal during summer time, or Montreal during winter time,obviously much lighter?Am confused because seasons aren't the different,but temperature is almost the same. If I wear beige loafers or beige 3/4 pants will I stand out in a crowd? Obviously I can wear what ever I want! But keeping within the fashion norms for an Australian "winter"(in Sydney and the Gold Coast) what should I wear?colour tone's, etch.Thanks!

Although Sydney is nowhere near as cold as Montreal in winter I guess it's relative, winter gets down to 7 or 8 degrees celsius at night in July, a friend from Iowa has never worn a warm jacket in his 10 years in Sydney, but for me that is quite cold. Winter also gives us a chance to be more fashionable. Black tends to be the trendier colour at night in winter in Sydney, but its a matter of choice and taste. Life on the Gold Coast is quite casual, the climate is great year round.

July in the middle of winter in Sydney can get rather cold mostly at night and you could get rain. but you can also get some nice sunny days but still you will need a jacket. you will see a variety of fashions but many will be dressed for work in business clothes. The Gold Coast is warmer . Here you are in semi tropical region. I love the GoldCoast winter . It's a  beautiful walking time not to hot or to cold although I wear track pants alot on the Goldcoast and a cotton jumper. It is very rare I need my jacket on. You will be unlucky if we get rain in July . It is normally quite a dry time of year.

In Sydney you will mostly need clothes for cool weather - jeans and a jumper/jacket you can take off for example. It can go to 0C at night. Some days when the sun is out you might be able to get away with 3/4 pants.

Colours tend to be a bit duller/darker in winter.
