  1. Cradle the ball in your hand like you're holding an egg. Keep your elbow locked and raise your arm at a quick and steady pace. You won't actually be "tossing the ball" as much as releasing it into the air. This is considered the hardest stroke in tennis and takes a great deal of practice.
