We have these neighbors that just moved in across the street and I thought I'd introduce myself because I noticed they have kids and I babysit, what exactly should I say?

  1. just go over and say " hi I am so and so .. we live accross the street. I noticed you have kids we have kids ages XXXXXX.. ".. I wouldn't throw out there immediately that the only reason you are going over there is for work..let that come out over time

  2. Maybe bring a bottle of wine or some flowers (always a nice gesture), and just introduce yourself.

Hi my name is "Jane Doe."  My husband and I just wanted to welcome you to the neighborhood.  Maybe say you noticed they have kids.  Ask them if they are excited about school?  Then just offer yourself for any questions regarding whatever you are familiar with, the school system, town/city, etc.

I wouldn't mention to them in the first convo that you babysit.  Feel them out first and get to know them a little better.  After a few conversations, casually mention that you watch some of the kids in the neighborhood and you would be more than happy to watch theirs if ever needed.

  3. I would just go over and say 'Just thought i would pop over and say welcome to the neighbourhood' and say something like 'If you need anything let me me know' i wouldn't just jump in with babysitting until you get to know them a bit more

  4. Oh you have to go over. Wish you lived across the street form me. We could use a sitter we trust, LOL

Just say hi, I live across the street and wanted to welcome you. My name is -----and I noticed you have kids, how old are they. That will open the door to let them know you sit.
