How should I let people know ...

How should I let people know to toss the Petals outside? Should I put a tag on them or include it in the program? What do you think?

Make little bags filled with rose petals and write a little poem on a tag like:

Paul and Sandy are now wed

They are now man and wife

They will walk down the aisle together

And take their next step in life

When they walk out of the chapel,

Throw these petals in the air

And celebrate their everlasting love

By showing them how much you care!

Many venues do not like petal tosses so first check with them.

If you are providing the petals inside, then a little cute tag with the instructions is very appropriate.  On the back you can even say a quick thank you to your guest for coming.  Make sure that the tag is attached to the petal cone or people won't get it.

I would have a basket placed for the guests on the way out or have someone hand them out after the ceremony. the guest will catch on.

well don't give them to people on their way into the ceremony, have an usher give them out as people exit but still put a tag on them if they're in little sachets that says 'outdoor use only' or something

well you can give them on the way out of the ceremony. then when you and your husband walk out common sense will tell them to throw them. If you still feel like they might not know to do so then I would attach a tag to them.... good luck!
