We are having steak tonight, and I just bought some fresh green beans. I don't eat them. How should I make them for my family?

  1. Good quick and easy, chop           fry 6 pcs bacon, leave fat in pan, stir in zesty Italian salad dressing, add beans cover cook 10 min, take out beans, pour sauce on top

  2. It depends on how involved you want to be.  The easiest way is to saute them in 1 Tbs of olive oil and season with salt and pepper.  However, the way I personally like to make them is this.  Add 1 Tbs olive oil to saute pan.  Finely dice 1/2 onion (red, yellow, vidalia are all OK) and 1 clove of garlic.  Add onion and saute until translucent.  Add garlic and saute for about 30 seconds.  Add green beans and 3 Tbs balsamic vinegar.  Season with salt and pepper.  You can also add slivered almonds, toasted walnuts, toasted pine nuts.  Enjoy!!!

  3. If you like them crunchy, then steam them to the desired crunch.  You could also boil them for a few minutes to the desired crunch.  Drain and serve.

Personally, I like fresh green beans cooked to death.  I pop the ends off and cut them in about 1 inch lengths.  Cover them with water, add onion and bacon, salt and pepper and cook slowly.  If the water runs low, add some more and continue to simmer.  The longer they cook the better they taste.

The steamed version is much healthier, but I like the "country style" taste much better.

Good Luck and enjoy your dinner!

  4. 2 cup of water into into pan and add green bean  and boiled hot til tender .  about 30 min.   done  simple !

  5. Sauteed with thinly sliced garlic in olive oil.  Add some sliced almonds to the top prior to serving.

  6. Buy some salt pork, Fry it up in the pan/pot that you will boil your fresh greenbeans in, add some water, leaving the salt pork in the pan/pot (enough for the greenbeans that you will boil it in), then add the greenbeans, bring to a boil, once its at a boil reduce heat to medium cover with a lid and boil for about 45 min or until the greenbeans are at a texture that you like. Serve with Real butter and salt and pepper.

  7. Boil water - dip beans in boiling water for 2-3 minutes (blanched / par cooked) set aside.

diced onion, veggie oil, salt, pepper, worcestershire sauce ( or soy sauce)

heat a sautee pan over medium high heat. toss in the oil and onion, once the onion is translucent throw in the par cooked beans, salt & pepper, turn up the heat to high. cook the beans until they are tender to the bite, once that stage is reached put in about 2 tablespoons of worcestershire sauce (or soy) for every POUND of beans. you don't really want to taste the worcestershire, it acts as a flavor binder.

I have no idea how much of any of the above ingredients you should use, as I don't know how many beans you have.

trim off the ends and clean them to the best of your ability, if you are cooking for more than 4-5 people I would recommend doing this in batches. however, I have done this before. boil & blanch the beans. cook your steaks and once they are done, do the frying, it only takes a few minutes if you have everything ready ahead of time.

And remember to TASTE TASTE TASTE as you go.

  8. plain and simple...just sautee them in butter. if you want to change it up put some soy sauce
