Question:

How should I paint my walls if I have a night sky theme?

I'm looking into a deep, midnight blue and silver.

I have some blue satin sheets and a sheer silver quilt to go along with it.

And I've found a star mirror, as well as star wall hangings that I'm going to spray paint silver.

I just don't know how I should paint the walls if I choose to go this direction.

Also, decor ideas?

  1. play around with the Sherwin Williams color visualizer to find colors that you like. It is the best paint visualizer on the web, imho. I like how their color palette is laid out, I like that you can search by color family & color name, the "painted" rooms look the most realistic, and it suggests coordinating color schemes. You can literally spend hours:

They have a color called "midnight" (# 6264) that you might like.

You can also take a photo of your house & upload it to the makeover gallery on this website:

You can get color suggestions & they'll photoshop them onto your room so that you can get an idea of what it will look like.

  2. wow.  I would love to paint your walls. I would paint your walls a deep blue and darken the ceiling.  Although I think this would be a beautilful them for a child...not an adult? Yeah paint it the color you said a beautiful midnight blue :-)

  3. yes..dark blue then use silver paint and paint little stars all around...sounds lovely

  4. Think about a grape colored purple.  A dark colored purple would look good with a black ceiling with stars all over it.

  5. go dark purple or

    midnight blue then

    put stars on the ceiling
